Mulnayak: 150 cms. high, white colored idol of Bhagawan Adishver in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth: It is on the Abu Hill in the lap of hillocks at the height of nearly 1220 meters from the surface of the sea.

Historicity: Bharat Chakravarti built here the temple and the four idols, on four sides, installed in it (chawmukhji). In Jain scriptures this tirth is called Arbudachal or Arbudgiri. This ancient tirth is also mentioned in the Bruhadkalpastura composed by Bhadrabahuswami. The most ancient temple at present was built in the eleventh century by Vimal Shah. By propitiating Ambikadevi the ancient idol of Bhagawan Adinath was, found 2500 years ago. This temple is called Vimalvasahi. Another temple was built in front of Vimalvasahi in the year 1287 of the Vikram era. It is called Lavanayashi. It was built by Vastupal. Tejpal brothers. Both the brothers were brave and generous. They spent crores of rupees for renovation of the Shetraunjaya and Girnar tirths. The art and sculpture of this place are the best in the world. The splendid temple was built under supervision of Anupamadevi the wife of Tejpal. The derani - jethani niches (recesses in the wall) are excellent specimens of carving. The idol of Mulnayak Bhagawan Neminath is very fascinating.

Other Temples: Besides Vimalvasahi and Lunvasahi, the temple of Pitalhar, the temple of Mahavir Swami, and Kharatarvasahi. At a short distance, there is a Digambar temple. The Gurumandir of Vijayshantisurishvarji is recently built.

Works of art and Sculpture: The sculptural artistry of these temples is famous all over the world. It is matchless and beyond description. The ceiling, domes, gates, pillars, archs and walls of the Vimalvasahi temple are excellent specimens of carving skill. It cannot be described in words. The sculpture is minute and variegated. There are 59 small temples in the round passage. The structure of the Lavynavasahi temple is of matchless carving and fascinating. The delineation of Krishna’s life, groups of dancing and singing girls and the carvings of the derani - jethani niches are very distinct. There are fifty - two niches in the walls of the passage round the temple. For pilgrims and tourists, the specimens of carving inside the temple are and will remain wonderful subjects for research.

Guidelines: The nearest railway station of Abu Road is at a distance of 34 kilometers. The hilly road begins from Abu Road. The Delwada temple is at a distance of two kilometers from Abu. Bus service and private vehicles are available. Board and lodging provisions are there. For pilgrims, the time for worship in the temple is between 12 and 6.
