Tirth :
In the village Bhildi on the main highway.
Historicity : In Jain
Scriptures, this place is known by the name, Bhimapalli. but its history
is not traceable. It is believed that this very ancient idol was formally
installed under the auspices of His Holiness Kapilvijay kevali. Once upon
a time there were a hundred and twenty - five temples with peaks, one
hundred and twenty - five wells and many stepped-wells. This city was
destroyed in the year 1353. Under the inspiration of Dharmachandbhai
Kamdar this village was resettled in the year. 1872 of the Vikram era. The
last renovation was accomplished under the auspices of Acharyashri
Bhadrasurisvarji Maharaj Saheb. On the tenth day of the bright half of the
month of Jeth in the year 2027. When this idol was being taken out from
the cellar, it was enlarged by divine power and wild bees began to fly.
Seeing this displeasure, Shravakas again reinstalled the idol at the same
place. Even today, faithful devolotees come here and have their desires
fulfilled. A fair is held here every year on the tenth day of the dark
half of the month of Magsar.
Other Temples : In this village,
there is another temple also.
Works of art and Sculpture :
Since this is a very ancient place and often undergoes rising and falls,
many artistic relics are found here and there from the hollow of the
ground. The ancient artistic idols are very attractive. Even today, if
digging projects are undertake, there is a possibility of finding
historical material.
