Tirth

It is in the center of the Sanchor village.

Historicity

This tirth is believed to belong to the times of Bhagwan Mahavir. It is described in the 'Jagachintamani Stotra'. The ancient name of Sanchor was Satyapur or Satyapuri. It is also mentioned in the various trithakalps composed in the fourteenth century, The impact of this tirth was so great that people of other religions became jealous. But nobody could do any damage to the idol. There is a reference that at last Alludin Khilji deceitfully took the idol to Delhi. Here stands a mosque. It was a Jain temple in the ancient times.

When the temple was built, is not known today. But it was renovated in the year 1963. There is no information about the golden idol that Allaudin took away to Delhi. The existing idol of Mulnayak is very ancient and impressive. This is the birth-place of the great poet Samaysundarji, Even today, this temple is called the temple of living God.

Ancient remains are found near the ancient mosque which is called the ancient Jain temple. The idol of Mulnayak, Bhagwan Mahavir, is very beautiful and impressive.
