Historicity
The History of the Tradition of Bhagawan parsvanath, by Ratnasundarji Maharaja Saheb states that this temple was built in the year 370 of the Vikram era. There is also mention that the idol of Bhagawan Red Mahavir was here in the year 1335 of the Vikram era. This tirth was renovated in the year 2006 of the Vikram era. The old fourth - century idol is still there. Here under the idol of Bhagawan Mahavir, there is a mark of an Ashtapada lion with the face of an elephant. Perhaps, this is the reason why the city was named "Hastikundi". There are references to show that many learned Acharyas did religions activities here. A vast fair is held here every year on the thirteenth day of the month of Chaitra.Revati Yaksha here is very miraculons.
