Historicity

Maharaj Bhavasinhaji settled Bhavnagar in the year 1979 of the Vikram era. Previously, it was known as the village of Vadva. This place on the sea shore is the center of all religious activities. There is a large population of Jains in the city and suburbs of Bhavnagar. here are also the jain Dharma Pracharak Sabha, the Atmanand Jain Bhavan Library, the Yashovijayaji Granthamala, the Jain dispensary, the Jain Kanyashala and the Jain boarding. Many Jain monthlies and weeklies are published here.

In all, there are fourteen beautiful temples in Bhavnagar. The temple of Mahavir Swarni outside the city, is very splendid.
