Mulnayak:
White-colored
idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami in the Padmasana posture.
Tirth:
It is in the locality of temple in the Pindvada village.
Historicity:
There is a mention that the ancient name of this tirth was Pindarvatak.
The inscription on the wall states that this temple was renovated by
Kunvarpal, the father of Dharana Shah, the renovator of the Ranakpur
temple and Kumarpal’s advisor Limba on the first day of the bright half
of the month of Fagan in the year 1465 of the Vikram era. On an idol in
this temple, He is an inscription of the year 1229 on the Vikram era. It
is, therefore, believed that this temple belongs to a period of time
earlier than the twelfth century of the vikram era. These are
extraordinary artistic ancient metal idols brought here from Vasantgadh
after its destruction. On one of the idols, there is a carved inscription
of the year 744 of the Vikram era. A flag is hoisted every year on the
sixth day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh.
Other
Temples:
There are four other temples at present.
Works
of art and Sculpture:
The structure of the temple is very beautiful. The artistry of ancient
metal idols of the Gupta Age is matchless and delightful. It is difficult
to see such idols elsewhere. The two splendid metal idols in the
Kayotsarga posture on the pendal in the depth of the temple are beautiful
beyond description Devotees and pilgrims should not miss to see these
idols.
