Mulnayak:
Nearly 912 cms. high, light-blue-colored idol of Bhagawan Adishvar in the
Khadgasana posture.
Tirth:
It is among the hills and in the forest near the Thauvan village on the
bank of the river Lilat.
Historicity:
On the basis of many ruins found here, it can be inferred that in the past
this was a large city adorned with many Jain temples. There is an
inscription that Sheth Panashah built here a temple in the twelfth
century. Then a number of temples were built. They show the prosperity of
this place. It is not possible, to see the whole image of God from the
entrance door of the temple. The idols are very big. Temples of this type
are not found anywhere else. Perhaps, the pinnacles were built here after
installation of the idols. Many times at mid-night in the months of
Fagan., Asadh, Shravan and Bhadrapad, sweet devotional songs sung by gods
in the temple, are heard. Many faithful devotees come here to keep their
vows and have their wishes fulfilled.
Other
Temples:
Besides this, there are twenty-four temples.
Works
of art and Sculpture:
The sculpture of this place has a distinct significance. The natural
beauty of this place on the bank of the river is really wonderful and
delightful beyond description. The idols in all the temples are in the
Khadgasan posture and full of artistic varieties.
